This Illustrated Reading Passages & Activities packet is a creative and engaging way for ESL learners to work and develop comprehension and fluency skills as well as building self-confidence.

The packet contains a collection of passages and texts of varying length, both Fiction and Non-Fiction. Each text comes with a set of activities for students to practice sequencing as well as identifying cause and effect. The passages are color-coded: BLUE ones focus on sequencing and RED ones on cause & effect.

Each text is professionally illustrated offering struggling readers clues about the information presented. Additionally there is a Powerpoint presentation with lots of practical examples relating to Cause & Effect. This is a great introductory activity which can be done as a class discussion to ensure everyone has grasped the concepts before applying them to the reading passages.
